About EV Charge Calculator
What this is
EV Charge Calculator is a free tool that estimates the cost and time to charge an electric vehicle (EV) from your car model and your local electricity or charging rate. It runs entirely in your browser — no account, no sign-up, and no personal data needed to use it.
Why it exists
The goal is to make charging easier to plan: how much a top-up costs, how long it takes at home versus a public DC fast charger, and — coming soon — how much you save compared with fuelling a petrol car. Clear, local numbers help drivers budget and decide with confidence.
Who builds it
It is built and maintained by mht-dev, a professional software engineer, as an independent project. Vehicle specifications and electricity/charging rates are curated from authoritative sources (such as PLN, TNB, SP Group, and Meralco), each dated in the project’s configuration and reviewed on a regular cadence. The calculation is transparent: energy = battery × (target − current) ÷ 100; time = energy ÷ charger power; cost = energy × rate per kWh.
